RESTAURANT REVIEW: Let me preface this by saying I am not the biggest BBQ fan. The BF is. We went up yesterday night because he had not been in quite a while and wanted to see how it was compared to his visits during his college days. They have an all-you-can-eat thing for 9 bucks that lets you sample chicken, riblets, pork and any sides. We started with some fried dill pickles and they were blah. More breading than pickle. I had the pork (outside chop…like that they had that option because I like drier meat) and it was good. Not great but good. Liked the sauce and spiced it up a bit with their hot sauce. Baked beans were good and corn was totally wrong. BF got the combo platter with ribs, chicken, chopped pork and chopped beef. He said the chopped beef was good but the rest was lackluster. Brunswick stew was good according to him…I did not try it. It was not horrible but I don’t think I will be making the trip again.

Hey Glutton- take a wonder up to Swallow at the Hollow in Roswell if you haven’t been there already. Went this past Friday and the sides will impress.

Thanks for posting! I’d give Rolling Bones a try, if you haven’t yet. The chopped pork is incredible!

I have never understood why people love Williamson Bros so much. I grew up in Marietta and have had it at too many cookouts, catered functions than I care to mention. That being said, I’ve never actually been to the restaurant. Their catered food has never in the least urged me to try the actual location. I’m still searching for good bbq….

Want good bbq? Go to Fat Matt’s Rib Shack in Buckhead / Midtown, on Piedmont. That place is unbeatable. Trust me on this one!
