There may be hope: Frank Ma lands again

posted on June 23, 2008 at 8:18 am
Word on the street is that Frank Ma will act as a consultant and general manager of a new restaurant on Briarcliff Road. The restaurant, which may have “Frank Ma” in the name, is supposed to open later on in the summer.  Lets hope the rumors are true! I have been jonesing for his cha chiang mein (noodles in black bean sauce with dried bean curd and ground pork) and was afraid I may never have my beloved dish again…
I’ve got my feelers out for more information so stay tuned.

Dinho has still been great even after Frank and the chef left. Yes, it’s not as hospitable and no “off the menu” suggestions, but the food was still on par….a couple dishes were even better. The menu is the same. I had cha chiang mein the other night and it was same as before.

Hmm. I got the noodles after Frank and the chef left and found them to be much less enjoyable. There was also a strange grittiness to them I had not experienced before.

The cha chiang mein at Chef Liu is pretty good…
