The owners of Zocalo open a new taco spot

posted on January 31, 2006 at 6:22 am

The owners of Zocalo are opening a “real Taqueria like the ones they grew up with in their native Mexico City”. The new location is in Grant Park at 465 Boulevard. The restaurant will feature items such as cochinita pibil and Baja fish tacos.

I think it will be open any day. I live right around the corner and this morning there were lights on and someone was behind the counter.

Yep, it is open. Folks were sitting at tables eating last night and someone was behind the counter again today around 11AM.
    Have to try it soon.

About time – I’d drive by and keep seeing the place ready to go but dark. Guess I’ll stop by this PM and try it for some togo…
