Taka Sushi cafe is now serving Oden

posted on November 13, 2005 at 8:24 am

Taka has had Oden on the menu for a few weeks now. My boyfriend and sister have both had it and say it was very good. Go try it if you have never had it before. Oden is a popular Japanese hotpot dish, which includes daikon radish, fish cakes, boiled eggs, konnyaku (yam cake), and more. These ingredients are simmered in kelp-based stock for hours. It is usually cooked in a big ceramic pot at home. Oden goes good with Japanese sake and cooked often in winter. The Oden is only served on Fri, Sat, Sun.

Are there any landmarks by this place? Is it an obvious place? I couldn’t find it but I didn’t try very hard.

Tim: There is a big sign that says Taka. It is on 385 Pharr Rd.
