Steals & Deals: Happy Hour at Nakato

posted on February 1, 2011 at 6:27 pm

One of the perks of our new neighborhood is living super close to Nakato. The long-standing Japanese restaurant is often overlooked as an intown Japanese option because a lot of people merely think of it as a hibachi spot. We always eat at the sushi bar or the “Garden room,” where they serve Japanese standards like shabu shabu, onigiri, donburi, soba, etc. Moon and I recently stopped by for a little nibble on the early side of the evening for the restaurant’s happy hour (served from 5:30-6:30). Everything on the menu below is $3.

As you can see, $15 buys 5 dishes and one cocktail from the happy hour drink menu.

We got a few dishes from the menu such as the fried tofu (above) and slutty sushi rolls (below).

Of course, I am incapable of sticking to the menu, so I had to order some nigiri.IMG_0626

Verdict: A great little deal with delicious food.

I live close to Nakato as well, so this is great news! Does the happy hour special run during the weekends?
