Heritage Foods USA is offering a “Recession Special” where you can get fifteen 14oz porterhouse pork chops – five per pack – $75 shipping included ($5/chop) or thirty 14oz porterhouse pork chops – five per pack – $130 shipping included ($4.33/chop). They say they chops will keep fresh for 2 weeks or be frozen. Take advantage of the offer while you can! The “sale” is over at the end of January.

    Just as a plug for local producers, you can get fresh, locally raised organic pork and beef at the Morningside Farmers market every week. Prices are definitely comparable, and Wes and Charlotte will do special orders. Check them out. It is Riverview Farms (www.grassfedcow.com). The market is open every Saturday all year, all weather. If you want the choice cuts, definitely get there early. Not to leave out the other vendors…it is also a fantastic source for local produce, baked goods, flowers…..
