No word on when they are opening, but “King of Pops” has to be the best name for a popsicle spot EVER.

I saw them painting this (I live down the street) and wasn't sure if it was for real!
are popsicles the new cupcake?
The guy at Videodrome brought it to our attention while we were picking up some movies. According to him, they are supposed to open in the old flower shop.
Nice! I hope they make paletas.
Nice! I hope they make paletas! Let us know when they open!
Glad to see this but certainly not a new concept. This http://ilovelocopops.com/ (and lots of others) have been in business for a while now. The pops are a riff on the traditional paletas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paleta) that have been sold on the streets for years in latino communities.
Yea… I know the owner. He stayed at my place in San Diego during is Coast to Coast tour, tasting and researching the best recipes for his shop in Virginia Highlands. My favorite was the avocado soy pop… weird but damn good and healthy. Who knew?
Who is the owner; what is the concept and where is this? The picture was not worth a thousand words.
I will definitely let you guys know when they are open. They seem to have a long way to go.
I can't find anything about it online so sorry for the lack of info at this point. I'll keep you posted.
If you need a paleta fix, LottaFrutta is great, but my favorite is La Estrella de Michoacan in Forest Park. The owner makes tons of fresh paletas minus the nasty food coloring. Love them. John Kessler wrote them up a while back. Check it: http://www.ajc.com/living/content/living/food/stories/2007/07/03/0705paleta_b.html
P.S. Philipe Snarck is the best commenter name EVER.

Oh. I thought this was just a gag. I didn't know they were a real place.
