Snapshots from The 2010 Food Network South Beach Food & Wine Festival

posted on March 5, 2010 at 7:22 am

I really love this event and I’m not normally into this sort of thing. This year was my second visit (click here to see the photos from last year), and it proved to be just as tasty and booze-filled as last year. If you do go, forget the full-price tickets; Craigslist (and scalpers, cough, cough) is your friend. Hope you enjoy the photos.

The was fancy water everywhere.

The passageway in between the tents where the celebrity demonstrations (see below) were held.

The calm before the storm.

Moon modeling our Waterford crystal wine glasses and nifty holder. Style–aside from his awesome “Cocaine blows” t-shirt–is not paramount when you’re walking on sand and fighting rabid foodies for small plates.

One of the many liquor sponsors. Mmmmm, Aperol spritzers.

It’s never too early for vodka.

The strangest dish of the day: fried chicken with some weird peanut butter and jelly concoction. It was all sorts of wrong.

A little hamachi with ponzu jelly. Heaven.

Puerco!

Some sort of egg and shrimp thing. Interesting presentation to say the very least.

There were many food celebs there, but I only caught a couple of them on camera because I was more into the cocktails.

My favorite sighting of the day, Eric Ripert!

And I got a little grainy video of him speaking complete with bad audio. Click if you dare:

A little something from España to end the day on a festive note:
