Pita Palace: Atlanta

posted on September 18, 2005 at 2:34 pm
RESTAURANT REVIEW:
Just had a quick late lunch at Pita Palace today. It was my first time back since the owner sold it back in March. The new owner was jovial but he is just not keeping that place up like the previous owner. The restaurant was a mess and he seemed to be completely stressed out (there were only 8 customers in the shop). The shwarma was good but the salads/toppings have changed and didn’t seem to be as good (or well-kept) for some reason. I will give the guy another shot though because a good falafel/shwarma is hard to find in Atlanta. I just hope it improves.

RESTAURANT INFORMATION:

Address: 1658 Lavista Rd NE
Phone: (404)781-7482
Cuisine: Falafel, Shwarma

You’re absolutely right — it is tough to find some good shawarma here in Atlanta. You should definately try Sabra International Market (1420 Dunwoody Village Pkwy)on Sundays. Their falafel rocks as well, and they have all the typical (and authentic) Israeli condiments.

I just had lunch there and man is it great! Clean and 4.99 felafel….can’t beat that. My friend Suzzy had the Shwarma and she loved it! If you havent been there in a while, give it a try!

The Mediterranean Grill (http://www.mediterraneangrill.com/foodmenu081125.pdf) has some good falafel wraps and their business lunch combo special is a steal at 6.49. Me and couple of my office colleagues have made it a ritual to visit once every week :)

You should also try OU For U in Sandy Springs. $4.99 falafel and much more. As good as in Israel.
