RESTAURANT REVIEW:
In all the hustle and bustle to get myself ready for my trip to San Francisco, I completely forgot to post about my lunch at Paschal’s a while back. That shows you how memorable it was. The restaurant is an Atlanta landmark, but that sadly doesn’t make it good. They offer a huge breakfast/brunch buffet on the weekends, but we opted to order off the menu in the name of portion control. Service was nice, but painfully slow.

Fried chicken with black-eyed peas and steamed broccoli

We ordered the fried green tomatoes to share. The breading on the tomatoes was good, but I didn’t like the sauce they came with. I would have preferred something creamy and tangy. For our main course, we each got the fried chicken with different sides. My friend’s mac was really bland and oily. My sides weren’t bad, but they tasted like they came from a steam tray at a school cafeteria. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy. Not a bad version, but I like Colonnade’s much better.

Verdict: An underwhelming experience on all counts. Really pricey for what you get and I’d recommend you hit up Busy Bee Cafe around the corner on MLK if you are craving some soul food that won’t break the bank.

Thanks! We moved in-town last month and saw this place while driving around, wondered if it was good. Now we know to not waste our money or time!

I took my parents here when they came in from out of town and had the same experience. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all but the service was slow and subpar, and definitely pricey for what you get. I’d recommend Busy Bee or “The Beautiful” restaurant on Casacade

We always go with a restaurant.com coupon which makes the value better. But I'll have to try some of the other places you mentioned!
