Not much nibbling going on lately. I have been cooking up a storm since the weather decided to cool down a bit. I am thinking of making some choucroute garnie very soon.

I have been making the rounds to my usual ethnic spots like Yakitori Jinbei, So Kong Dong and Hanil Kwan. So, nothing new to report on that front except they are all still very good.
I did make a return visit to Kevin Rathbun Steak for a late meal this past weekend. My friend and I shared the seafood tower and got a couple of burgers with some fries. The seafood tower was very good (sweet lobster and fresher than fresh shrimp and oysters), but the burgers were even better. I was actually surprised. The massive patties were placed on onion-studded buns and covered in a sharp cheddar cheese (you have a choice of toppings). They accidentally added bacon to our orders, but we ate them anyway. I only got through half of it, but it was delicious. The fries, which are hand-cut, were perfect too–crisp and dry on the inside. Chef Rathbun was making the rounds around the packed restaurant and there was a nice vibe flowing throughout the sleek space. My steaks in the past may have been overly salted, but this visit made me want to go back and give them another shot. Did I mention the burger was solid?

Accidental bacon? If only we could all be so lucky!
