Miyo: Hilo, Hawaii (Big Island)

The options in Hilo are few and far between. This is a very rustic Japanese restaurant set on a pond. They leave much to be desired in decor and cleanliness but the menu and view were worth it. They have all the Japanese standards using very fresh ingredients. BF had the tempura and sashimi combo. It came with rice, soup, and salad. I had a large garden salad that had everything under the sun in it. Very good. All very fresh. I then had the Tempura zaru soba. The tempura had some unique veggies in it and was really delicious. They also make their own ice cream. Worth a visit for lunch if in the Hilo area.
