Las Palmeras Restaurant: Atlanta

posted on September 14, 2005 at 4:16 am

RESTAURANT REVIEW:
This little hole-in-the-wall Cuban restaurant has quite possibly the best roast chicken in the Atlanta area. They marinate it in mojo, roast it, and top it with pickled onions. You get a choice of 2 sides and they are all good. I always get the moros (white rice cooked in black bean broth) and maduros (sweet plantains). The also have a wide variety of solid Cuban staples. It is located in a residential neighborhood and a bit difficult to find but worth the trip. There is also an ajoining store with Cuban goods like Cuban breads, Cafe Bustello, and mango paste.

RESTAURANT INFORMATION:
Location: 368 5th Street
Phone:(404) 872-0846
Tip: Get there early because the roast chicken sells out fast.

PSA to my lovely followers: Please forgive me for not responding to your responses in Twitter real time. I deleted FB and Twitter from my phone for mental health a while back. I highly recommend it!
