Killer kitchenware

I was searching for a gift for a friend’s birthday and came across some really neat items on the Design With Reach website. I love DWR’s products, but the prices can be steep. I was actually able to find the perfect gift for under $100.
I bought them this stainless steel Tiffin Lunch Box Set ($80). My friend is a crazy-talented home cook who loves taking elaborate home cooked lunches to work. A totally rock and roll gift.

Being the good shopaholic that I am, I also bought a little something for myself. I’d been looking for some modern-ish recycling bins for my garage and spied this Recycling Bag set ($22).
I’ve been using them for a while now and I love them. The industrial-strength tarpaulin material is a cinch to clean and waterproof to boot. Each bag connects to the other with velcro and you can easily detach them to carry to your recycling center/bin. Great find if you recycle at home.
I don’t normally use an apron unless I am frying or making something particularly messy. But, this Oven mitt apron ($18) is particularly useful if you like aprons and side towels are not your bag.

You can actually purchase much cheaper versions of these at a Chinese grocery store or restaurant equipment place anywhere on Buf Hwy… I used to own one of these and maybe paid $6-8 at the time.

I first saw these in Ang Lee’s ‘Eat, Drink, Man, Woman’ and had to go get one of my own.

Yeah. I know. She has a few of the cheaper ones, but I wanted to get her a super high quality one since she uses it everyday and loves DWR. I remember seeing them in that movie too and the American remake “Tortilla Soup.”

I have been needing to get recycle containers for my apartment and I think the ones you mentioned will work perfectly – thanks!

I recently got a set of those lunch boxes from my husband for my birthday! I love them, and I always reference Eat Drink Man Woman when I talk about them, which was quite often after I got my present. I gave the largest set to my mum, and she returned it to me a few days later filled with food. Pretty awesome! We’ve also been using them to take leftovers home. They’re classier to lug around than Tupperware. 😉

You can also get cheaper versions at Indian grocery stores a little closer in town. The DWR set is quite pricey, but they are a bit nicer.
