Congratulations to Chef Scott Peacock on his James Beard win for Best Chef, Southeast. I need to get over there for some of their brunch soon.

Chef Richard Blais, of Iron Chef fame, has made his return to Atlanta and is now manning the helm of Element gastro lounge located at 11th St. and West Peachtree St. Blais debuted his new menu this past Tuesday and initial reports are quite favorable. I am very excited to have this incredibly talented chef back in Atlanta. His meals remain are some of my most memorable culinary experiences in Atlanta. Hope to visit in the next week just to get a taste of his spectacular creations. Welcome home, Chef.

Floataway Cafe is growing. I spoke with Chef Quatrano yesterday and she expects the expansion to be complete by mid-summer. Looking forward to getting over there for some of their delicate fried squash blossoms-hope they have them on the menu this season!

In related news, the charcuterie/dry-aging room at Star Provisions is now complete and many of the products are available for sale. Chef Charles Schwab has really outdone himself and his meticulously crafted products make it worth the visit if you have not been already.

    Bacchanalia got the first squash blossoms of the season last weekend. Floataway should have them on the menu.

    I just read in New York Magazine about Chef Soto opening his restaurant in the West Village. I plan on hitting it on my next big apple extravaganza siince I never made it to his restaurant here.

    Have heard some great reports on the food at Soto. Plan on hitting it when in NYC this summer as well.
