In the news…

Chef Kevin Rathbun has been selected to compete on “Iron Chef America.” That makes 3 Atlanta chefs who have had the privilege to participate on the popular show.

Richard Blais and his crew have been contracted to take over the kitchens at Halo located at 817 West Peachtree St. Chef Blais says the program will be called Satellite @ Halo and the chef de cuisine will be from Element.

There have been murmurings around the internet that chef Gunter Seeger has been back in Atlanta looking for new projects. Only time will tell if the rumors are true. We need a stellar fine-dining establishment–a girl can only eat on Buford Highway so often.

Japanfest Atlanta will be held at the Gwinnett Conference Center on September 29th and 30th. I have never been to the event, but it might be a fun weekend diversion if you like Japanese food and culture. The food is being provided by Haru Ichiban, Benihana, Joli Kobe, Nakato Restaurant, TAKA, and Umezono. Please report back if you go.

The Epicurean Restaurant has closed their doors.

I didn’t get a chance to watch it. But, the Rathbun brothers won. I think it is airing again tomorrow.
