The finalists for this year’s James Beard Awards have been announced. One of my favorite chefs, Linton Hopkins, is nominated for Best chef in the Southeast. I really hope that man wins. I am sure you’ll agree with me that the recognition is a long time coming. Check out the full list of nominees HERE.
Restauranteur/chef Riccardo Ullio has hired a new pizzaiolo (master pizza chef) named Enrico Liberato from Naples, Italy. The chef is already cranking out the Naples-style pizzas at Fritti and are reportedly “much improved.”
Speaking of pizza, Jeff Varasano opens the doors of his much anticipated pizzeria in Buckhead tomorrow night. I have not tried his pizza, but am looking forward to getting a taste (and seeing if it really is worth all the hype).
And a small newsbyte re: the site. I finally caved in and joined Twitter after many friends and my own father (!) kept hounding me to sign up. You can follow my ramblings about everything food (and unrelated nonsense) HERE.
