FOOD AND WINE EVENTS
On Thursday, Oct. 9, Cafe 458 will welcome Chef Hector Santiago of Pura Vida Tapas & Bar, who will prepare a three course meal for just $28.00. Diners will also get a chance to meet and interact with the guest chef. Taste of Atlanta is this weekend at Atlantic Station. More information at: www.tasteofatlanta.net.
SHUFFLING CHEFS
Everyone’s favorite butcher/cured meats guru, chef Charles Schwab has left Star Provisions and is now at The Blue Ridge Grill. Chef Todd Immel, formerly of Table 1280, has taken his place.  Chef Tony Siechrist has left his post at Holeman & Finch Public House. Former Shaun’s sous chef, Lance Gummer, is now at The Shed at Glenwood.

CLOSINGS

I was shocked and saddened to learn there was a fire at Havana Sandwich Shop over the weekend. No word if/when it will reopen. The Globe Restaurant has closed its doors.

Havana Sandwich shop has opened in the old Long John Silver’s in Canton. The owner of the original on Buford Highway lives in Canton area. It just opened last month. So if you have a hankering for Havana take the trek north outside the perimeter to get your fix.

Anybody know where Glen Sprouse of 5 Seasons is going to? Kevin McNerney, formerly of Sweetwater, is replacing him. There was no better brewer in Atlanta (and probably the Southeast) than Glen.
