Hit me with your best shot

Today is National Tequila Day, which means you now have a perfectly good excuse to break out the tequila (like I need one). I just wish I had remembered to get one of these gansta Hijos De Villa Tequila guns to torture Moon with.

I grabbed some steaks at Whole Foods–they still have that awesome steak special going–and I’ll be making margaritas. Meat+fire+margaritas=one blissful gal. Need a good margarita recipe? My girl, Besha, makes a sick margarita that is just as good as anything I’ve had in Mexico. So, I am stealing her recipe to share with you guys. Instead of those sickly sweet pre-made mixes, Besha goes simple by combining fresh lime juice with tequila and just enough Agave nectar to sweeten the concoction. The salted rim is optional. Serving it on the rocks is not.

And if you need a reminder of why you should celebrate this holiday. Please reference the following list of “Tequila’s Magical Properties.” Cancun: 2009

And just a little more silliness in the spirit of this very important holiday.

Yes, I actually used to dance to this at parties. It was the jam! I have no shame.

Nectar is Opening its Second Location on Clairmont Rd and North Decatur (GA)
Nectar opened its first location five months ago and has already become a destination for many people who crave fresh, organic flavors July 24, 2009

You will be taken by surprise how creative the smoothies are. You will taste distinctive flavors like the Cacao Pulp and Organic Cacao powder with Blueberry and Soy Milk Smoothie or an Organic Acai or Acerola Smoothie made with fruit pulp from the Amazon Forest.

If you are looking for a Liquid Diet and still want to get all the nutrients and vitamins the Raw Juice Bar features made to order juices using organic carrots, apples, beets, greens and a kick of ginger is not a bad idea either.

Nectar is taking over the old Smoothie King location but don’t expect to find all the canned fruit and turbinado sugar overdose. Nectar is taking smoothies to what many people say “seriously to the next level” using real fresh frozen fruit and as much organic vegetables as possible.

Handcrafted delicious Panini with roasted veggies and homemade pesto using all natural bread and also meat Panini with organic mixed greens and tomatoes reflects the concern owners have on how you can indulge your senses without damaging your body.

A quick note on the soups and salads, the Hearts of Palm salad that is served with cranberries and homemade sherry vinaigrette is a must try.

The space is under renovation and will follow the same modern, hip vibes of the first location in the Oakhurst Village. Opening date is expect to be second week in August.
