Moon and I made the first of what I am sure will be many visits to the brand spanking new Frank Ma South today–it was actually Moon’s 3rd visit since the Ma’s (re)opened last Friday. Frank and Amy were all smiles and as friendly as ever. I am simply overjoyed they are back in the biz again and the location ain’t bad either. Before I could even open the menu, Amy told me she had put in an order for my favorite “special noodle” dish–the cha chiang mein. You cannot beat service like that! Frank came by to chat every once in a while about getting the new cook up to his stringent standards and how hard they have been working. He told us there are no soup dumplings yet but they will have them soon when the kitchen is running smoothly. I asked Frank how long he’d be around at this location and he said that Amy and him were going to “definitely retire” when he turns 70 and also added they will be celebrating their 40th anniversary soon. Such a cute pair and get this…they are delivering so a big grrr to all of you that live close by.

I will update in the post.
It looks so good, but do you know if they have anything on the menu a vegan could eat?
I am not sure about completely vegan dishes–I wouldn’t want to lead you astray–but I have heard of them accommodating vegetarians. I don’t pretend to know the ins and outs of vegan living but would guess you should be fine if you eat tofu and veggies. Hope that helps.
Wow — can’t wait to check this out. I could leave work now … hm.
I think the zipcode is actually 30329. 31136 is apparently west-southwest OTP.
Oy vey. I actually did that on purpose to help keep it a secret 😉 I’ll change it. Thanks!
All of the food looks heavenly. I can’t eat soy, gluten, eggs, or dairy anymore, and I eat lots of lovely meals, but Chinese food is one of the top things I miss.
I went last night and it was great. I have never dined at any of his restaurants though have heard much great things about Frank Ma. I had the 3 cup chicken. The sauce was awesome but i was very suprised at the chicken meat that came in it. It was chicken wings cut up in pices with the bones in. A little hard to eat. Is that normal? What else do you suggest there on the seafood/chicken/noodles side? I dont eat beef or pork. Thanks.
Delivery? This just keeps getting better and better.
Thank you Jennifer, bringer of good news!
That’s right by work and will be an automatic add to lunch rotation.
just a note: Visa is the only flavor of plastic accepted
I had the fish in hot oil after a house special (pork with squid) was unavailable. 🙁
It was quite tasty though. I’ll be back soon to try other things.
Do they have a liquor license?
@Colin not yet, it’s BYOB and there’s a package store next door.
