Food find: Reuben Sandwich at Star Provisions
OK. I admit it. I watch ‘Top Chef’ on BravoTV despite the overt advertiser references, which make me want to gag. One of the judges described a contestants food as “craveble” and I have been using the word every since when others fail me. This sandwich is just that. Craveable. I have had 4 in the past 3 weeks and I am not tired of them yet. This is one damn good sandwich. Buttered house made rye bread that cracks under your teeth and gives way to buttery, chewy goodness. Perfectly seasoned corned beef that is sliced thinly so there is no struggle to break the meat free of the sandwich. Nice mouth feel. Tangy Russian dressing that has the right amount of acid and mixes perfectly with the sauerkraut that has that nice vinegary bite. A lovely Gruyere tops the sandwich and provides a creaminess to round out the flavors of the sandwich. Get one now.

Ooh, so happy to have found your blog–I’ve added it to my blog roll. I will really enjoy it.
I am looking for somewhere in Atlanta that serves free-range, organic meat for my Valentine’s meal with my husband. Have any suggestions for me?
I’d like entrees to be under $30/person.
Hi Sally.
Thanks for reading. What about Restaurant Eugene or Joel? Both are quite romantic. You might want to hurry though…they tend to book up fast.
Bliss
Thanks, Bliss.
That picture looked so good that today I went and got that very sandwich. Overall I would say it was good. It didn’t look as good as your picture (did you photoshop it 🙂
I also had the potato fingerlings which were dried out and terrible and the brownie which I was impartial to.
Anyways thanks for blogging about ATL restaurants, keep it up.
Ha Ha. I don’t have photoshop. Thse brownies are legendary.
Thanks for the tip! We ventured out to Star Provisions and got a reuben and pb&m sandwich. Hubby found the reuben salty but I loved it! Also loved the pb&m. Keep up your fab blog….we’ve found you to be right on with your recommendations. Hoping to join you for a supper club at some point!
If you thought that sandwich was good, you should try Anna Lee’s in Roswell…great Reuben and the soups are to die for.
