No you are not misreading the title of this post. Belly General Store in Virginia Highlands is importing the bread from the famed boulangerie in Paris’ Latin Quarter. The loaves are fully cooked in the wood-fired ovens in Paris and arrive each Thursday at Belly. I ordered one for this Thursday. Bread is notoriously tempremental when it travels. So, I doubt this will be as good as the real thing I’ve enjoyed so many times in Paris. But it is still a great treat to have it locally. Lionel Poilâne passed away some years ago, but his daughter, Apollonia, has taken over the reigns of the Pain Poilâne empire.
