Food find: Mole from Zocalo

I grabbed some of this mole at Zocalo’s stand in the Peachtree Road Farmers’ Market this past Saturday and can I just say wow? This has to be the first time I have tasted mole this close to my Grandma’s in Atlanta. Each container costs $5. To use the mole, roast a chicken and serve it heated (I suggest you reduce it a bit and season with salt to your taste) with tortillas on the side. Delish. I can see this becoming a staple around these parts and even bought an extra one for the freezer. They also sell homemade tortillas (they are average but the staff told me they are working on them), refried beans and salsas.

    Was at the Market at Spruill Art Center today and Zocalo was there. I got the salsa verde and refried beans. Both were really yummy. The avocado in the salsa tones down a bit of the usual “zip” from the tomatillos which I am not sure is good or bad! $5 per item was not a bad deal!
