Food Find: Fresh red chili pepper from Taiwan

Do you have a person in your life who wears their tolerance of all things spicy like an annoying badge of honor? You know the type. The guy/gal at your table who always says: “that wasn’t spicy at all” when you mouth is on fire. Well, have I got the product for you to challenge them with. This fresh red chili pepper from Taiwan, which is criminally spicy. So spicy you don’t want to put more than a half a teaspoon if using it in a sauce. So spicy that you better be prepared from some morning after porcelain penance if you dare to spoon it onto your meal like a condiment. Ask Moon. He knows what I am talking about. Yet, he still comes back for more and more. All gastrointestinal sadism aside, this stuff is gold. I use it in all of my Asian dishes when it calls for chili paste. It’s got a fresh pickly pop and one jar goes a long way. I’ve even started giving it as a gift to my friends and the response has been unanimous cries of “Awesome!” and “Holy shit! That is spicy!” You can grab it at any Super H Mart, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.
