Food Find: Delifrance Mini Croissants

I am the laziest baker you will ever meet. Yet, I love freshly baked breads and pastries. I have tried every par-baked and frozen good out there, but most just end up looking like sad hockey pucks. All I want is a little something buttery and sweet with my morning coffee minus the trip to the bakery. Is that so much to ask? I spotted these bags of frozen croissants from Delifrance in the freezer section at Fresh Market and figured I had nothing to lose.


You don’t need to defrost them overnight or do anything too involved. Just pop them into an oven preheated to 375 degrees and bake them off. The result?


The whole house is instantly filled with the smell of buttery croissants. They are super super flaky and each croissant is packed full of layers. I found them surprisingly excellent provided you don’t over or under-bake them–not that I’ve ever done that. The whole bag retails for around $6 if I remember correctly and they are well worth the space in your freezer. Check them out.

    Sounds good to me! Sure beats the constant layering/working the dough from scratch! ;)

    Oh wow! When I worked as a baker at a hotel in downtown Atlanta, we used breakfast pastries that came frozen like that.. we’d defrost them overnight, proof them a bit that morning and then straight into the oven..

    I wonder if you defrosted them (pre-set on a sheet tray) if they wouldn’t bake so dark?
