Food find: Babette’s Pantry

posted on January 17, 2007 at 6:59 pm

We all get a little lazy sometimes and that is nothing to be ashamed of. Short cuts can be a lifesaver when you are tired and in need of some decent grub. Babette’s Cafe has opened a pantry business where you can buy fresh stocks (veal and chicken), pie dough, desserts, dessert sauces, salad dressings and prepared foods like cassoulet. You must call ahead to place your order. Their phone number is (404) 523-9121. They are located at 573 North Highland Ave. You can visit their website by clicking here. They note that they may have items on hand, but some can take up to 36 hours. Orders can be picked up Tuesdays through Thursdays. Great resource for that dinner party you’ve been planning.

Nice find but her prices seem a little steep. $10 for a quart of chicken stock? $30 for veal stock sounds high too, but I would pay it since it take s days to make properly. Hope the new place is making a good home.

Thanks 🙂 Steep prices indeed but fresh veal stock is liquid gold in my world. I can see myself using them in the future.
