Food find: Anson Mills Carolina Gold Rice

You have to hand it to Glenn Roberts, owner of Anson Mills. He has devoted his life towards preserving heirloom varieties of grains. His commitment to quality is outstanding and it is no surprise that chefs all over the country swear by the products. I have been using the polenta and grits for quite some time–I am actually making some braised lamb shanks over the polenta tonight.My newest Anson Mills find is their Carolina Gold rice–an individual grain rice that can be made into risotto, rice pudding, or just stand on its own with a square of French butter on top.
