Fatty fun at Cabbagetown Market’s annual pig roast

Cabbagetown Market hosted its second annual pig roast this past weekend, which was a godsend considering the lack of gas all over Atlanta. It was a great event and the owners, Lisa Hanson and Maria Locke (along with a bunch of volunteers), really outdid themselves.
Farmer Mike Aiken taking care of business.
The apron says it all.
Some pork with corn bread and grits mixed with collards.
The crowd.
A local band provided the tunes, which included some great Dylan covers.
Although the weather was a tad overcast, it was still a beautiful day and quite fun to lazily hang out on the sidewalk, catch up with friends, nibble on some tasty Tamworth pig and sip some Mexican Coke. I’ll definitely be back next year.

Would have been nice if you mentioned it first, so that your readers can participate. I would have went had I known it existed.
Perhaps an ‘events’ calender of all the stuff around town?
Just my .02
Yeah, I totally forgot to. It has been a very hectic month for me where I had to focus on family and work first. Remember, I am only one person. re: a calendar, I have looked around at event applications, but not found anything that works for this format. I’ll keep looking.
Lisa, Maria and Mike served it up right! The food was great, just like last year. We had a blast playing, too, and we hope everyone enjoyed the Dylan tunes (courtesy of Rolling Thunder Revue -http://www.rollingthunderrevue.com) as much as the Grits ‘n’ Collards ‘n’ Cheese!
