Cheese festival at Star Provisions in September

Tim Gaddis, acclaimed cheese monger who just served as a judge at the American Cheese Society’s annual meeting and competition, will be hosting a special cheese festival on Thursday, Sept. 17 through Saturday, Sept. 19.

Thursday, Sept. 17 – “The Cheese Chronicle”
Join Liz Thorpe, vice president of Murray’s Cheese, for a tasting of cheeses featured in her new book The Cheese Chronicles. The tasting is from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by a book signing from 7 to 8 p.m. The tasting costs $45 and includes a copy of The Cheese Chronicles. Guests also may attend the book signing free of charge.

Friday, Sept. 18 – Sweet Grass Dairy
Georgia favorite, Sweet Grass Dairy, is returning to Star Provisions for a free encore tasting from 1 to 4 p.m. Enjoy a sampling of delicious cheeses from Thomasville, Ga., including Kelle’s Blue which took home awards at this year’s American Cheese Society Competition.

Saturday, Sept. 19 – Atlanta Foods International
Explore various tastes and textures while sampling selections from Atlanta Foods International’s specialty cheese program from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Be sure to purchase some of your favorites, all of which are available at Star Provisions.
