Cheap Eats: Delectables

From 1986 to 1998, Delectables (660 Irwin St., 404-586-0920, www.irwinstreetmarket.com) was a favorite lunchtime destination for many Atlantans. After losing its space in the Fulton County Public Library, however, owner Nancy Smith chose to focus on the catering business and did not reopen. Mouthful: Chicken livers

Holeman & Finch Public House: In keeping with its focus on hearty “nose to tail” cooking, this bustling gastropub makes one hell of a chicken liver pate. Though French-inspired, touches such as the layer of grassy apple-cider sorghum jelly and pickled green tomatoes make the pate feel down-home but no less refined.
