Bella’s Pizzeria: Smyrna

posted on January 30, 2006 at 11:45 am

A good slice of Pizza is hard to find in Atlanta. So, I was excited to find Bella’s Pizzeria on a recommendation from Tom Maicon of Atlanta Cuisine. I went to check out the Smyrna location because it is closer to my home. I got a small cheese and was on my way. They use Grande cheese which is the king of pizza cheese. It makes a big difference. The pizza had a nice thin and crispy crust. The sauce was fresh tasting and a perfect compliment to the authentic cheese. The Acworth store has a gas oven which is supposed to make the crust even crispier. I am very excited to add this place to my rotation. Go check it out if you are in need of a good slice.

Glad you enjoyed it, you know how risky it is to recommend anything these days.

You’re so right about that Grande cheese, it’s pricy but so worth it. I’m really fond of Rosa’s downtown as well, but would place Bella’s a notch ahead with the deciding factor coming down to cheese.

Btw, and totally off-topic to this entry, nice to see that you’ve included restaurant news to your blog.

    Keep up the good work…

Bella’s Rules. My wife and I only live a short drive away, and it’s the only pizza I bother with nowadays.

Bella’s was our favorite pizza place until recently. We usually go to the Vinings location, and somehow the pizza seems different and not quite as good as before. For me, the crust was not as crunchy and seemed more like white bread dough. Has anyone else had the same experience?

I haven’t been in a while, but I have heard that the quality hasn’t been up to snuff.
