Steak pie and cornish pasty REVIEW:
I have never had that much of sweet tooth. Give me something savory and I am happy. I do, however, love anything with a flaky pastry crust and have a fondness for savory pies. I don’t know why I kept forgetting to blog about the Australian Bakery Cafe in East Atlanta, but they are a favorite guilty pleasure of mine.

Pie menu at Australian Bakery Cafe
I stopped by after taking the dog to Parkgrounds to grab a little treat for myself when I read the paper. Ordered a cornish pasty and a mushroom and steak pie to go. I rushed home and threw them into the toaster oven at 350 degrees to warm them up.
I greedily dug into my meat pie and it was so good. Not the gruel-filled hockey pucks you find at some Australian bakeries. Just meaty and flaky goodness. I was not crazy about the cornish pasty–the veggies were akin to the over-peppered vegetable mixes that fill most Chinese egg rolls. I think meat is the way to go. Go get one if you have not already.INFORMATION:
