I work at the American Roadhouse on N. Highland Avenue and we make our fries fresh from real potatoes every day. Check em out!

I am glad to see someone recognized Fat Louies, they are just amazing. Also, do not forget The Woodfire Grill. Mussels and French Fries there are one of Atlanta best treats!

I’m curious if you’ve tried the fries at Bouchon. I got to eat at the Las Vegas location earlier this month. The fries were good but not great. I can’t say I understand Bourdain’s slack-jawed enthusiasm for them. I wouldn’t at all be surprised if they were frozen. (Everything else we had there was perfect.) Anyway, I second the recommendation for the truffle oil/parmesan fries at JCT. I have to get out to Muss & Turner’s soon as I keep hearing good things.

I have had the fries at Bouchon (both Vegas and Yountville locations). I was not blown away. I think the ones I had at the Yountville location were before the switch to frozen–quite some time ago.

When Michael Ruhlman was in town, I asked him how Bourdain felt about learning that the fries were frozen after his unbridled enthusiasm during the Vegas episode and he said Bourdain was less than happy, but thought they had actually eaten them before the switch to frozen.

    Good restaurant overall, though.
