Another lazy night of cooking with the help of my buddy, Super H Mart

I have something to admit: I suck at making Asian cuisines at home. Despite my best efforts, the food just never comes out the way I would like it to (i.e. tasting like it does at my favorite restaurants). However, that doesn’t stop me from trying over and over again. I am happy to report I finally got it right last night! I made Jean-Georges’ recipe for Stir-Fried Chinese Noodles with Roast Pork with a little help from the Duluth Super H Mart. Sorry for the iPhone photos but I left my camera elsewhere.
Bought some pork from the Hong Kong BBQ stall and sliced it up.
Bought these amazingly good fresh noodles at Super H. They are made in Conyers and had a very nice bite. You can find them in the cooler with all the other noodles.
Assembled the sauce in my handy salad dressing jar and shook the hell out of it before adjusting the seasoning accordingly. Fried the egg up in the hot wok and followed with the remaining ingredients. This was the hardest part since my wok flipping skills are sadly underdeveloped so I had to rely on my tongs. The sore arm–I am so out of shape–was worth it because these tasted so good! Better than any noodles I have had–aside from the ramen at Momofuku, of course–in a long time. You should definitely try the recipe if you are a noodle freak like me.

yum, my mom used to make this all the time. it’s one of our favorites.
Nice… Reminds me of Korean jap-chae (Glass noodles with sprouts, green onions, carrots, beef, etc…).
You’re like me, I’m delicious Asian food cooking retarded. What’s up with that? It makes me sad/ 🙁
i have not inherited my grandmother’s and mother’s sense of cooking. i can have the same ingredients but my dishes don’t come out nearly as tasty as theirs. what’s up with that??!! in any case, thank god for korean restos in atl for stepping up. if all else fails, i always have my cousins in duluth to make me some comfort food 🙂
Good to know I am not alone!
You guys should try this recipe though. I hate to say foolproof, but pretty damn close.
And, P.S., I love those Korean noodles too. We had them the night before with our pre-marinated bbq from Super H.
Y'know, supposedly there is a Super H opening in Chamblee near the AmericasMart and the GM Plant somewhere. No date, yet, that I've seen… oh wait! It now shows "coming soon" for the Doraville location at
Peachtree Industrial Rd & Motor Industrial Way! Color me excited! I LOVE Super H Mart, it's one of the few things that will get me to leave my ITP bubble and venture into Gwinnett …
