A16: San Francisco

RESTAURANT REVIEW:
Right before I left San Francisco to move back to Atlanta, this adorable Italian spot opened and people are still singing its praises with good reason. If you are looking for simple Italian fare (made with mostly local ingredients) served up in a warm enviornment with an amazing wine list full of obscure Italian and California wines, this is the place to go. Reservations can be tough to get, but walk-in tables are always available. We went simple and got a few plates to share. Everything was perfect. The salad with Jerusalem artichokes, fried almonds, pecorino and escarole was just sick. And the burrata with mini toasts was gorgeous.

Pizza margherita
Verdict: The place is still as good as the day it opened and affordable to boot. A bottle of wine, a burrata appetizer, 2 pizzas, 2 salads, 3 espressos and a dessert only cost us $35 each after tax and tip.

I Love the Blissful Glutton!
I ate here last Spring, and it was fairly good, but so packed and busy that it was distracting.
They have an impressive wine list for a somewhat small place.
I’d like to go back when they were slow, but I’m not sure that happens.
Well, it is a popular spot, but I always have a great meal and don’t mind the busy atmosphere.
